Proving that Egyptian river cruising’s popularity shows no sign of slowing, A&K Sanctuary will launch its fifth luxury riverboat in the region in 2026: Nile Seray. The 64-guest, 32-suite ship will be named after the word for “palace,” capturing “the essence of this floating sanctuary, which brings contemporary elegance to the world's most storied waterway,” according to the Abercrombie & Kent brand.

"Nile Seray represents the evolution of our nearly five decades of pioneering river cruising in Egypt," said Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group. "This vessel embodies our understanding that luxury today is defined not by excess, but by space, authenticity and the quality of experience. It reflects how we see travel: deeply personal, beautifully crafted and rooted in genuine connection to place."

Editor’s note: This page will be updated as new details about the riverboat are released. It was last updated on Dec. 2, 2025.

Private Accommodations

Entry-level suites will measure about 355 square feet with a spacious bathroom, in addition to a seating area alongside floor-to-ceiling windows and a waterside Juliet balcony. Two larger suites will expand to include full private balconies with outdoor spa pools.

Public Venues

The intimate riverboat will be further anchored by a pair of international chef-led restaurants, one of which will be inside and another alfresco. Additional public venues will extend to a top deck with canopied daybeds, a swimming pool and an outdoor bar and lounge, as well as a gymnasium and a spa with two treatment rooms.

“These experiences offer intimate encounters with Egypt's most precious heritage sites and create the kind of extraordinary journey that has become A&K's hallmark over nearly five decades of Egyptian exploration,” according to the luxury brand.

A&K’s history along the Nile began in 1977, when its founder, Geoffrey Kent, was inspired by a chance encounter with actor David Niven on the set of the original "Death on the Nile" film. Kent opted to then lease the SS Memnon steamship, effectively launching A&K's initial Nile service.
